Go on a deep adventure including the climate and culture of Hakuba! |Endekashi

What is "Endekashi"?

The founder is Yusaku Nagasawa, a native Hakuba local. After skiing in mountains overseas such as Canada, the US, and New Zealand, he realized that the mountains of Hakuba were just as impressive, and so he explored the mountains of Hakuba so much that before he knew it, he was named the leader of the Nagasawa Expedition. After that, he found work as a guide and started "Endegashi."

The name of the guide club, "Endekashi," is a dialect of the Otari and Hakuba regions, and is derived from "endeku" (to walk) and "kashi" (imperative form), meaning "go on foot." "Endegashi" means to go on foot in order to encounter good "hotei" (which also means "fresh snow surface" in the Hakuba dialect)

In the Hakuba area, which is crowded with numerous guide companies, Yusaku Nagasawa, who was born and raised in Hakuba, will guide you on a deep adventure that includes the local climate and culture of Hakuba

You can almost hear the distinctive dialect of the Otari and Hakuba regions..

"Endekashi" Tour

The tours are rarely too large, so there is little waiting time and they are flexible, which is one of Endekashi's features and appealing points. Always looking for an exploratory spice, sometimes you hit the target and get really excited, and sometimes you end up having to trudge through the bush, but in the end it's usually a great experience

[Why]

"Nase" means "gentle" in Otari dialect. This is the place to start if you are trying backcountry for the first time or are not confident in your physical strength or experience. You can learn the knowledge and skills necessary to enjoy backcountry skiing, from how to use equipment to how to walk on snow and how to adjust your clothing, on a relaxed tour. The hike takes about an hour.
Participation fee: 10,000 yen per person

Most of the remaining

This tour is for experienced backcountry skiers, intermediate and advanced skiers who want to ski down the slopes with vigor. The tour guide will predict the best conditions based on the weather and snowfall of the day. The mountains in the Hakuba area are large in scale and the valleys are deep, so you will need sufficient skiing skills, physical strength, and the ability to avoid danger. Hike time: 2-4 hours.
Participation fee: 13,000 yen per person
