Enjoy the joy of being in harmony with nature on a gentle and comfortable slope
Iwate is a place where snow clouds formed far away in the Sea of Japan are carried by the westerly winds over the mountains, depositing high-quality snow. IWATE BACKCOUNTRY GUIDES is based in the Hachimantai area of Iwate, and hosts backcountry tours and slope sessions, focusing on comfortable slopes. The
field is mainly the comfortable slopes of the gently sloping mountains. Their philosophy is that "the joy of being in nature, using all five senses to the fullest, and being in harmony with nature is sure to enrich the soul. Through skiing, we want you to experience the Hachimantai climate, something that can only be found here, that can only be found on that day, and that is unique to you."

Choose from "BC ENTRY" and "BC HIKE" to suit your level
"BC ENTRY" is a tour for beginners who are just starting out. The fee includes the rental fee for backcountry gear, so even those who don't have their own equipment can feel at ease. After a basic lesson, you will be guided to slopes that even beginners can enjoy with peace of mind
"BC HIKE" is a flagship tour that allows you to enjoy the backcountry around Hachimantai and the Ura-Iwate mountain range, which can be reached by hiking up for about two hours. Only local guides can take you to the best spots according to the conditions of the day
