What is Hoshino Resorts Nekoma Mountain like?

The birth of one of Japan's largest snow resorts

Hoshino Resorts Nekoma Mountain (formerly Alts Bandai & Nekoma Ski Resort) is a vast resort spanning the north and south of the mountain. It is divided into the South Area (formerly Alts Bandai), where you can enjoy open skiing with views of the majestic Mount Bandai and Lake Inawashiro, and the North Area (formerly Nekoma Ski Resort), where the north-facing slopes are high in altitude and receive light snow, allowing you to enjoy a long season that continues into spring

The two areas are connected by the connecting lift "Nyaruts Chair." Previously, it was possible to travel between the two areas using a "snow walking route" that took about 15 minutes, but by using the connecting lift, it is now possible to travel in about 7 minutes. Enjoy the vast slopes that you can't ski down in just one day

Topics from the '25-26 season

The long-awaited tree run zone for snow enthusiasts has arrived!

In addition to the 33 diverse courses, a vast tree run zone has been created in the southern area, consisting of three zones totaling approximately 20 hectares (the size of four Tokyo Domes). You can enjoy powder snow and the natural terrain unique to tree runs as you pass through beech forests

Enjoy a fulfilling apres ski experience that will keep you entertained even after you've finished skiing!

Starting this season, the southern area will be filled with spaces to enjoy the afterglow of your skiing. There will also be a market where you can enjoy local cuisine and souvenirs, and chat around a bonfire with a drink in hand

Recommended courses at Hoshino Resorts Nekoma Mountain

White Valley 2 (South Area)

Maximum gradient: 29 degrees, average gradient: 22 degrees / Distance: 340m / Slope orientation: West

This is the resort's number one ungroomed run, covered in fluffy powder. The slope is just right, and speedy turns can create big sprays. The appeal is that you can reach it with just one lift on a powder morning. If there's snowfall, this is the place to go! It's also great for mogul practice, as natural moguls grow easily here

Deep 1 (North Area)

Maximum gradient: 33 degrees, average gradient: 14 degrees / Distance: 1200m / Slope orientation: North

This is Powder Heaven, the highest elevation resort in the resort, with plenty of fresh micro-fine snow accumulating on its courses. As its name suggests, it's deep, with a course length of 1,200m and a slope of up to 30 degrees, creating faces that send up overhead spray. After the snowfall, there's bound to be a scramble for powder, but if you get up early, you're sure to get your fill of it

・Frozen 2 (South Area)

Maximum gradient: 28 degrees, average gradient: 20 degrees / Distance: 670m / Slope orientation: -

The course is basically ungroomed and offers powder skiing. The slope at the start allows you to pick up speed and enjoy long runs. On sunny days after a snowfall, you can see beautiful frost all around, making for a very nice view
