What is Sapporo Teine (Hokkaido) like?

Boasting a famous course that has produced top riders and magnificent scenery

It's extremely accessible, just a 40-minute drive from central Sapporo. From the summit, which is over 1,000 meters above sea level, you can enjoy spectacular riding while taking in the beautiful views of Sapporo city and Ishikari Bay. The sparse forest nature zone is a powder paradise with ungroomed snow

In recent years, Sapporo Teine has become extremely popular among advanced freeride enthusiasts and skiers and snowboarders. Their main attraction is the vast backcountry that lies beyond the gates at the summit. The quality of the snow and the fascinating terrain are incredible. Easy lift access allows you to ski down the powder-filled faces, and finally return to the ski resort's parking lot. Teine has set up a "Teine Gate" near the summit, and the resort takes a stance of supervising skiing beyond that point, outside the ski resort's managed area, on the premise that skiing is at your own risk
