What is Togari Onsen Ski Resort (Nagano Prefecture) like?
A hidden gem with powder snow, tree runs, hot springs, and beautiful scenery
Of the ski resorts in Shinshu, Togari Onsen is easily accessible, about 15 minutes by car or 25 minutes by shuttle bus from JR Iiyama Station. It's often referred to as a dark horse, since the famous Nozawa Onsen is next door, but it's certainly impressive
First of all, there is the outstanding view that overlooks the scenic beauty of Shinanodaira, and the slopes have a wide layout, with two signature slopes, "Pegasus" and "Tonpei," as well as 13 diverse courses, despite only having four lifts. The 2,500m long run, which allows you to descend while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Chikuma River, is a famous course in Togari
It's a perfect environment for enjoying freeriding, with the abundant snowfall and high-quality snow that only snowy Shinshu can offer, as well as a beautiful tree run course and three steep, ungroomed courses. Because it's not too crowded, it's a popular, hidden night spot for powder lovers, and is always bustling with activity

Recommended Gourmet
Yakiniku Dragon by Jumbo
This season, the ski slope restaurant has undergone a major renovation! Yakiniku Jumbo, a renowned yakiniku restaurant that is so popular that reservations are hard to get even in Tokyo, is finally coming to Nagano Prefecture for the first time this winter. The restaurant's top recommendations are its exquisite burger made with the restaurant's specially selected meat, and the "mysterious curry bread" that can only be purchased at the main store. At lunchtime, they offer a special menu created in collaboration with the local area, using Shinshu Premium Wagyu beef from Iiyama City, local vegetables, and Iiyama rice. In addition, for dinner, you can enjoy popular dishes from the Tokyo store, such as the classic "Nohara-yaki" and Wagyu Nigiri.
Recommended hot springs
Togari Onsen Akatsuki no Yu
It's a one-minute walk from the Pegasus slope. There is a large public bath and an open-air bath. There is also a restaurant and a shop selling Togari souvenirs. The natural hot spring that springs from 1,081 meters underground is a slightly yellow, odorless, weakly alkaline simple hot spring. It is said to be effective for beautiful skin, fatigue recovery, neuralgia, and arthritis.
