"LOVE SKI HOKKAIDO" where Hokkaido's representative slides slide around Hokkaido.
On the final day of recording, we headed to Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort, where heavy powder could be expected from the previous day's snowfall.
Depending on how the cold air flows in, the snow piles up differently at the six ski resorts in Sapporo.
This day is probably a "hit" day for Sapporo International. When I went there, it was 10 degrees below zero near the base of the ski resort, perfectly cold. The quality of the snow is a smooth dry powder that can't even make snowballs. With rising expectations in my heart, I was the first to board the gondola.
When I checked the snow on the top of the mountain, it was piled up to my knees.
All the members had a blast with more snow than I had imagined.
However, a sliver of uneasiness crossed the crew here.
The technical skis that Iyama is wearing (SALOMON S/RACE) cannot handle this powder completely.
Anyway, I can't help but take pictures of the powder because the conditions are so perfect. Head for the downhill course with the steepest slopes in the ski resort.
This deep powder even on a downhill course with a maximum slope of 30 degrees and an average slope of 15 degrees. Since I couldn't speed things up with this, I decided to repeat Russell with the members other than Iyama and Sasaki and add a track...
Set the stage with all the members to shoot the best video.
And the camera finally reached the standby position, and the long-awaited first run.
And the crucial first run for Iyama...
What appeared in front of the camera was Iyama, who continued to dive into the snow like a submarine.
Since it cannot make a turn, it moves straight toward the camera while maintaining a backward leaning posture. Until now, the theory of powder footage has captured the fresh quality of the snow, capturing beautiful turns, but this day, a shocking image of Iyama just going straight was shot.
The whole crew burst into laughter at Iyama, who just kept going straight without moving his upper body.
I just passed by the camera.
After just finishing one slide, everyone was exhausted... Waiting for the weather to improve, we stopped at SKS INTERNATIONAL on the first day.
The weather calms down and the sun shines, making for perfect conditions. Get back on your feet and hit the slopes again.
The skiing and snowboarding friends who gathered without missing this day and the best skiing of the best day will liven up the conversation.
In Sapporo, the barrier between skiers and snowboarders is low, and they enjoy skiing together. Different gears don't matter to enjoy the same snow. The more friends you have, the more fun it will be.
After enjoying the best conditions in the morning, go to the cafe "Thumb's Up Coffee Stand" that Sasaki frequents. The café's specialties are handmade donuts and rich soft serve ice cream made from organic raw milk.
The shop is located in Zenibako, a famous surf spot in Hokkaido.
Sasaki and Shinji, the store manager, are friends of the sea. Sapporo is close to the sea, and once you've finished skating, you can go surfing, making it a dreamlike location. In fact, many skiers enjoy surfing. Surfing has a great influence on the snowy mountain culture of this region, such as meeting at the sea and skiing together in the snowy mountains regardless of whether it is skiing or snowboarding.
This concludes the 3-day recording.
For this project, the Sapporo-based duo once again visited recommended spots in the city.
Sapporo has absolute potential, such as the number of ski resorts, abundant snowfall, and high-quality snow. In addition, because it is close to the city, you can make a comfortable trip by taking advantage of its convenience. Stay at your favorite hotel in the city and enjoy a meal at one of the city's restaurants. There are countless ways to enjoy it depending on the situation and mood. (Although I didn't cover it, I visited other popular shops such as miso ramen, soup curry, and earthenware hamburgers.)
Furthermore, since the sea is close, sea lovers can also surf. Horizontal riding, vertical riding, a culture that can be played without worrying about age is growing.
"LOVE SKI HOKKAIDO", which will be broadcast from 1:20 midnight on January 30th, is a condensed version of the charm of such a ski trip.
