All products using "GORE-TEX PRO" are environmentally friendly and PFAS-free
Arc'teryx, a leader in the evolution of outdoor products, has adopted a newly developed "ePE membrane (expanded polyethylene)" for all of its "GORE-TEX PRO" products this season. While maintaining the excellent waterproof and breathable performance of the original, it reduces the characteristic "rustling" stiffness, resulting in a softer and more flexible feel. Lightweight and durable have also been further improved, and it is now PFAS-free, completely eliminating PFAS (per-fluorine compounds), which have been problematic as "eternal chemical substances." This is the next generation of GORE-TEX PRO, achieving a high level of balance between comfort and functionality while minimizing the environmental impact.
The company already uses fluorine-free durable water-repellent (DWR) finishes in all categories of GORE-TEX products, and this latest change makes the garments completely PFAS-free from manufacturing to processing. In addition, the fabric pattern has been modified to minimize waste, saving 800 meters (equivalent to 400 jackets) of scrap material during the manufacturing process.
The first product in this next-generation line is the "BETA AR JACKET." The "AR" in the model name stands for "All Round," symbolizing its versatility in handling a wide range of activities, from mountaineering to skiing and trekking. Attention to detail is evident in features such as the Drop Hood™, which protects against wind and snow even when the hood is down and allows for quick and easy fit adjustment by pulling a cord; pockets that are perfectly positioned so as not to interfere with harnesses or waist belts; and double-zipper ventilation that allows for fine adjustments depending on the situation. The lining uses GORE® Micro Grid Backer technology, which boasts the highest abrasion resistance among Gore's products, as well as excellent lightness and breathability. It is also characterized by its ability to easily retain warm air from inside.
Designed for outdoor professionals and athletes, this versatile hard shell offers exceptional durability and protection, delivering the ultimate in performance and comfort in extreme conditions and harsh environments.
A women's model of the Atom SV Jacket, the warmest model in the Atom series, is now available!
This is the warmest jacket in Arc'teryx's Atom series, and now comes in a women's model with improved breathability thanks to underarm gussets specifically designed for women, which are prone to getting stuffy, and an improved thermomapping pattern to suit the female physique, for even better warmth.
The brand's proprietary wind-resistant and water-repellent synthetic insulation, Coreloft™, and lightweight, breathable softshell material, Fortius Air 20, enhance breathability and heat retention, improving body temperature regulation.
An insulated softshell jacket ideal for low to medium output activities, suitable as a mid-layer in cold weather, or worn on its own as an outer layer during rest periods.
