Professional shops are a great source of help when choosing new skis. They allow you to test ride numerous brands and models on the snow, and by combining their extensive knowledge and user feedback, they can compare and evaluate products from multiple angles, making their advice persuasive. Skis, in particular, are a great reflection of the discerning eye and attention to detail that only a professional shop can offer. Let's ask a discerning professional shop to tell us about the most noteworthy skis for the 2023-2024 season
Models with a waist width of around 100mm are said to be the most all-around skis. Models with a waist width of around 105mm are especially popular globally. They offer ample buoyancy and playful performance in powder, and excellent maneuverability on rough, uneven runs. They also offer excellent grip and control on firm, groomed runs. This range is considered the ideal all-mountain, all-around ski

ARMADA|STRANGER
This is the only way to enjoy cruising on the slopes with relaxed turns, leaving it up to the R

The turns are simply fun and easy. The semi-fat 100mm center, flexible flex, and short radius (R=15m) make for an unusual shape, but the relaxed turns you can rely on the radius to cruise down the slopes are something you can only experience with these skis. The
soft flex allows the skis to flex well and bend easily. The tip is the same width as the JJ, and the center position is set back, so it's also quite good at gliding through powder.

VÖLKL|REVOLT 104
When you arrive at the slopes in the morning and can't decide which ski to bring out, try this!

◆Official website: http://www.mdvsports.co.jp/
Many brands have released skis with similar volumes and outlines, including camber and twin rocker, but I think this is the most balanced freestyle ski in this highly competitive category. It's perfect for
cruising the slopes, powder, passing kickers, waves, and 3D terrain. It's light yet stable, offering satisfying skiing but also easy to slide. If you arrive at the slopes in the morning and can't decide which ski to bring out, choose this one. The twin tip makes it convenient for skiing with kids. It's also great for expanding your skiing repertoire and introducing the joys of skiing to the next generation of skiers.

ELAN|RIPSTICK 106 & RIPSTICK 106 BLACK EDITION
A masterpiece with a wide range of applications for users and ski scenes

◆Official website: https://www.elanjapan.co.jp/
Personally, I think this is a hidden gem. While the stiffness may feel a little lacking for skiers coming from alpine or basic skiing backgrounds, I think it's a ski with a wide range of uses and few downsides for average skiers.
The board's rigidity is enhanced by a wood core, with carbon fiber on the inside of the ski and carbon tubes inside the ski. The ski's smooth flex is distinctive and incredibly fun to ride. The ski itself isn't weak; it grips the snow from the beginning to the end of the turn without letting go. It offers excellent maneuverability in powder, and surprisingly, the vertical acceleration is incredibly satisfying!
While this description sounds abstract, in a nutshell, it's a ski with an extremely wide range of uses and skiing scenes. The BLACK EDITION, meanwhile, is a more aggressive remake of the standard RIPSTICK, and the riding feel is described as "a carbon ski that feels like a metal ski." In addition to the edge grip comparable to a metal ski, these skis are impressive for their responsiveness, unique to carbon skis.
The skis aren't too heavy, which is a plus! These skis are incredibly fun to ride! As for the bindings to match, I think the standard RIPSTICK is fine with a setup that suits your style. The tail slide control is easy to operate, so I think you can make the most of the ski's performance even with a setup that suits the mountain area.
On the other hand, the BLACK EDITION tends to maintain grip until the latter half of the turn, so I think bindings that hold the ski in place with the boot lip will provide the best turn grip and response. As for the setup boots, the skis themselves are very light to handle, so I feel that they will perform well even with relatively lightweight touring boots!

VECTOR GLIDE|POLARVE STANDARD
This season it has been completely renewed and is now more versatile than ever!

◆Official website: https://www.vectorglide-japan.com/
This season's POLARVE STNDARD has been completely redesigned.
By eliminating the carbon fiber that was built into last year's model and using only metal, the board feels more like it's sticking to the snow, making for a more stable and smooth ride.
And yet, it's surprisingly maneuverable in powder, with a 107mm center width that's just right for good grip on groomed runs and sharp, satisfying carving turns. It's truly a ski that can be used all around.

◆Official website: https://lineskis.com/ja-jp
This is a freestyle powder model. The 108's softer flex at the center enhances the variety of movements. The thinner nose and tail reduce swing weight, making it easier to move in the air and in powder. This board is perfect for gliding, tricks, and powder

The UNLEASHED series was released in the 2022-2023 season. It's perfect for skiers who want to do everything, focusing on powder riding and carving on the slopes. They also want to play in the park. Starting with the 2023-2024 season, a 114mm center width has been added, and there are now three options: 108mm and 98mm. Those who want to use one ski all season can choose the center width that best suits their needs.
